A portion of Liverpool fans were gracious in defeat when praising Mason Mount after scored the match winner for Chelsea at Anfield last night.

Mount’s tidy first half strike was enough to secure Chelsea a significant 1-0 victory in the backyard of the Premier League’s reigning champions.

Thomas Tuchel took a huge stride to embedding himself into folk law by stretching his unbeaten run as Blues manager to ten games.

This iconic status has already been secured by Mount, who even got the Liverpool fans raving about his performance.

It was just another typical evening for Chelsea’s maestro midfielder.

Along with the goal, he made three key passes, attempted three shots and had 61 touches against Liverpool (WhoScored.com)

That took his tally to six for the season, just two shy of his overall tally in 2019/20.

He is rapidly earing recognition from every corner of the country, not just from within the realms of Cobham.

And rightly so, considering how influential Mount has become to Chelsea.

His levels haven’t dropped under Tuchel, which some may feared might have occurred following Frank Lampard’s departure.

If anything, the 22-year-old’s stature has become even greater, with pundits like Ashley Cole suggesting ‘he’ll be pushing for captaincy’ soon (Sky Sports).
