Gary Lineker, Ian Wright, and Gary Neville have reacted to the report about Chelsea’s preparing the documents to withdraw from the European Super League.
The fans have spoken, including many of them outside the Stamford Bridge this afternoon, and the club might have listened — finally.
As many of you may have already heard, Chelsea fans gathered outside the stadium to protest against the club’s decision to take part in the proposed new mid-week competition.
According to several reports, including from The Telegraph, Chelsea have been preparing the documents to pull out from the Super League despite being one of the 12 founding clubs.
Several former players, including Lineker, Neville, and Wright have had their say about the report.
An earlier report from The Sun claims that Chelsea players had a meeting with the club chairman Bruce Buck over the Super League situation.
The club’s decision was reportedly not well-received among the players.
This, the backlash on social media, along with the fan protest outside the stadium might have led to the club’s reported decision to withdraw from the European Super League plans.
It remains unclear whether the other 11 founding members will follow suit, but these aforementioned former pros clearly believe that they will.
