Paul Canoville has made his feelings known about Antonio Rudiger potentially cutting ties with Chelsea this summer.

Canoville took to Twitter to personally tell the German international he would love him on board for at least another season.

We all adore Antonio Rudiger

The former Chelsea winger is certainly not alone in his cry for Rudiger to stay at Stamford Bridge.

Supporters far and wide have been urging the defender to sign a new deal, with his contract fading away by the day.

Of course, fans know that the club’s current situation in terms of appointing a new owner is preventing the centre-back from committing his allegiance right now.

Rudiger has been asking for a pay rise pretty much since he entered into the final 12 months of his tenure in South West London.

An agreement over an increased wage was apparently close to being finalised in February, but Roman Abramovich threw a spanner in the works by putting Chelsea up for sale.

Now, the two parties are pretty much back to square one, although Thomas Tuchel has apparently attempted to persuade his fellow countryman to remain a Blue.

Tell Rudiger what he wants to hear

Tuchel could turn out to be a pivotal player in the chess match that is Rudiger’s future.

The two Germans have formed a firm bond since they became colleagues last January.

Rudiger has arguably played the best football of his career under Tuchel, whilst the manager owes a lot of his Chelsea success to the centre-half.

Hence why there is such a clamour from across Europe for the former Roma centurion to leave his post and join forces with another camp.

Real Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have all reportedly shown interest.

Whilst Rudiger understandably wants to carry on his Chelsea journey, sometimes matters are simply out of one’s control.
