Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has said that he looked up to Chelsea legend Ashley Cole as he grew up supporting Chelsea.
There have not been many footballers who could confidently say that he was one of the best in the world at some point in their careers, but there would be little to no argument if Cole did.
The former left-back has won pretty much everything during his playing career including three Premier League titles and an unbelievable seven FA Cup trophies.

Unsurprisingly, the footballing icon has inspired a lot of younger generations, including Manchester United’s Luke Shaw who also had the chance to play alongside Cole at international level.
Asked about his idol, Shaw told Manchester United’s official website: “Obviously I would have to go towards a left-back and one I watched a lot.

“For me, he was probably one of the best left-backs ever in the game: Ashley Cole.
“Like I said, I watched him a lot and I wanted to become a player like him.
“I was lucky enough to go to an England camp with him and it was amazing to be around someone I idolised so much and I watched a lot of him and he was the player I wanted to be like when I grew up.”
The Manchester United’s article also added that the 24-year-old used to be a Chelsea fan when he was a boy and even played at the club’s development centre before joining the Southampton Academy at the age of eight.
