Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan said he learned a lot from Thomas Tuchel and considers him among “the best coaches in club football”.
Tuchel seems to be a manager who leaves a good impression on players with whom he has worked.
Prior to the Chelsea reunion with Tuchel, Christian Pulisic and Thiago Silva had spoken about positive experience of playing under the German coach.
Manchester City’s Gundogan also seems to rate the coach very highly as he spoke about his desire to go into coaching after his playing career.

“Some time ago, I asked around for some information on how the procedure would work if I were to take a trainer’s licence one day,” the Germany international told Goal and SPOX.
“The fact is that with Pep [Guardiola], [Jurgen] Klopp, and Thomas Tuchel, I’ve had pretty much the best coaches in club football so far.
“You learn a lot and think about how you can pass on this knowledge after your career.”

It is very interesting that Gundogan put Tuchel in the same bracket as Klopp and Guardiola despite having played just one year under him.
The pair worked together at Signal Iduna Park in the 2015/2016 season, before the midfielder eventually signed for Manchester City in summer 2016.
Despite the lack of silverware during the campaign, Dortmund still came second in both Bundesliga and DFB Pokal and reached the Champions League quarter-finals.
