Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher is a midfielder who managers absolutely love.
That is according to Telegraph journalist Matt Law.
Speaking on the London Is Blue Podcast, Law stated that managers adore Conor Gallagher and that his former boss Patrick Vieira tried to re-sign him following a successful loan spell at Crystal Palace.
The 23-year-old has been a key player under current chief Mauricio Pochettino this season, starting in all eight of Chelsea’s Premier League games so far.
A manager’s dream
Law says Gallagher is a player who managers just love.
On the Englishman, he said: “Managers love him, all managers love him. If you look, Patrick Vieira loved him, tried to re-sign him. I think there’s a stat that virtually every manager who’s ever had him has tried to re-sign him.”

It is quite clear that Pochettino is one manager who really appreciates Gallagher and what he brings to the table.
Not only has the Argentine used him often this season, but he has also given him the captain’s armband in the absence of Reece James and Ben Chilwell.
Of course, Chelsea have had a lot of injury problems. Had the likes of Christopher Nkunku and Romeo Lavia been fit, perhaps Gallagher would not have got as much game time.
But the England international, who has been described as an “amazing character” by Frank Lampard, is clearly someone Pochettino trusts, otherwise he would not be leading the team out of the tunnel.
What exactly do managers love about Gallagher so much? It is probably his work rate and energy, with Gareth Southgate praising him for his pressing not too long ago.
Maybe Gallagher is not the flashiest player on the ball, but he is clearly bringing something to the table that managers like.
