Reports from France have claimed that Manchester City turned down the chance to sign Joao Felix this summer.
According to AS, the champions acknowledged his disappointing spell at Chelsea as a reason for why they elected not to bring him in.
Felix is enjoying a strong return to form over in Spain, as he is excelling a loan spell with Barcelona.
The move away at least on a temporary basis looked a necessity for the Portugal international, as he was proving extremely unpopular with his own fanbase during pre-season.
Playing for a team he has claimed is a dream for him, the Portugal man is finally looking like the ‘special’ player so many praised in the past.
City turned down Felix
Things didn’t work out quite as well at Chelsea for him, although he did show flashes of brilliance at a particularly low time at Stamford Bridge.
Nevertheless, it emerged that Mauricio Pochettino was not prepared to bring him in again either temporarily or permanently when he became manager at Stamford Bridge.
Instead, the boss was far more prepared to go into the future with Christopher Nkunku in the position.
It seems his rough time in England did not go unnoticed outside of West London though, as other Premier League sides cited the poor form when they were handed the opportunity to sign him this summer.
It remains to be seen whether a big move to England will ever be on the cards again for Felix.
