Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella has proven to be one of the most popular members of the squad right now.
The defender has reportedly been a great presence in the dressing room in a squad that lacks experience in a lot of positions.
It was claimed over the summer that Cucurella was happy at the club too, with him not enjoying the easiest start to life at Stamford Bridge.
There was real hope to sell the left-back just over a year ago, however now he looks one of the most important players under Enzo Maresca.
He is now one of the older members of the squad, however he paled in comparison in this category to Thiago Silva when he was here.

Marc Cucurella and Thiago Silva didn’t get on at first
Everyone at the club will know doubt have learnt a lot from the veteran defender, who was described last season as ‘fantastic’ by manager at the time Mauricio Pochettino.
It appears the two didn’t get on too well from the start though. Cucurella told the Premier League’s Twitter page that they had a very bad relationship when he first joined.
He said: “Thiago, maybe I’ll say Thiago. Our relationship started very bad, but then with time I think for example I enjoyed playing with him, and I think he enjoyed playing with me also.”
Chelsea fans were missing Silva
Chelsea’s early season defensive woes will have certainly left some supporters missing Silva at the back.
However, they are now on a run of three consecutive clean sheets in all competitions, with Cucurella being a key member of the backline in two of them.
The Spaniard has kept Ben Chilwell way away from the first team picture this season, with a great effort being made to sell him over the summer.
The England international did make his first appearance of the campaign on Wednesday in the Carabao Cup, however it is believed the plan is still to part ways in the upcoming transfer window.
