The transfer window is now shut, and full focus is on the second half of the season, with Chelsea already in action on Tuesday night in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup.
Liam Rosenior might be disappointed with the club’s inability to bring in a new signing over the past month. Having targeted a defender and a midfielder, the only addition is the recalled Mamadou Sarr.
At least now, Rosenior can focus on matters on the pitch and the training ground instead. Chelsea are still in all four competitions and remain competitive, but tonight, they could be knocked out of the Cup.

Rosenior has earned plenty of plaudits, and even if Chelsea lose tonight, or are knocked out, the Blues gaffer will still look back on his first month in charge with pride. The feel-good factor is back at Chelsea.
Speaking to Sky Sports before the second leg, Marc Cucurella actually identified a key difference between Rosenior and Enzo Maresca. The defender claims Rosenior has filled the Chelsea squad with confidence.
Asked for his initial thoughts of Rosenior and his coaching staff since they arrived at Chelsea, Cucurella praised the new Blues gaffer and mentioned confidence: “Yeah, very good. They bring a lot of energy.
“They give, as well, some confidence that not all of the players had before. We are in a good point. We can improve a lot of things for sure, we don’t time to train but we are trying to understand his ideas.”

While Cucurella thinks the overall confidence of the squad has improved, especially among some of the players who lacked confidence under the guidance of Maresca. But Neville thinks one player is lacking.

Over the weekend, Neville told his Sky Sports podcast that Alejandro Garnacho’s confidence is low at Chelsea: “As a young player that’s gone to Chelsea, he looked shot to pieces in terms of his confidence.”
One thing Garnacho has got right however, is scoring a brace in the first leg against Arsenal. That has kept the tie alive for Chelsea going into tonight’s second leg. A win is all that will do for Chelsea.
