Marc Cucurella is one of the first Chelsea players to speak out following the sacking of Graham Potter a couple of days ago.

Chelsea’s owners pulled the trigger yet again with their second managerial sacking of the season. Now, Graham Potter follows in the footsteps of Thomas Tuchel by exiting Stamford Bridge.

All eyes are now on the Blues hierarchy to see who the next full-time appointment is, with Bruno Saltor stepping in as the interim boss. His first assignment is tonight’s Premier League fixture at home against Liverpool.

According to The Independent yesterday, Julian Nagelsmann is the manager whose name has cropped up the most during early discussions at Chelsea.

Marc Cucurella, who worked alongside Potter at both Chelsea and Brighton, uploaded a message on Instagram last night directed towards his old boss.

“Thanks and best of luck in the future, gaffer,” Cucurella wrote on his Instagram story last night.

Stan Collymore has guessed that Potter’s next destination will be Leicester City, who sacked Brendan Rodgers on Sunday.

We do wish the 47-year-old the best of luck in his next job.

Cucurella, along with the Chelsea squad, must feel some blame for yet another mid-season sacking.

Cucurella joined the Blues last summer for £60million (BBC) under previous management, but many expected Potter’s arrival in West London to revitalise him. Instead, the 24-year-old defender is still trying to recapture his Brighton form.

There is so many individuals in the Blues group performing well within themselves during this campaign.

If Chelsea are to pull off a Champions League miracle this season, regardless of who sits in the managerial dugout, the players simply must raise their levels. Otherwise, it won’t be pretty later this month with the quarter-final tie against Real Madrid.

Will Bruno Saltor be the man leading the Blues into battle against Madrid? Or do the club’s owners want to act fast and appoint Potter’s full-time successor?
