Mark Schwarzer has explained that he’s really worried about the way Chelsea are playing right now under Graham Potter.
Retired goalkeeper Schwarzer, who spent time at Stamford Bridge during the latter stages his career, has spotted something concerning in matches involving his former club.
He suggests that Potter has been unable so far to build a Blues line-up that play with his style.
“The players that have been at the disposal of Graham Potter are good quality players. What worries me watching Chelsea and watching Graham Potter’s Chelsea play is not seeing the Graham Potter identity that we saw at Brighton,” Schwarzer told Sky Sports, as quoted by Football Daily.
“How he changed Brighton, how he had them playing a certain style of football, I’m not seeing that with Chelsea. That’s the worrying part for me. Is that message not getting across? Are the players not being able to digest it? Are they not able to carry out that sort of system?”

Potter will mark five months in charge as Chelsea head coach tomorrow, so it’s fair enough that people are now starting to form a proper opinion of him.
Despite the interruption of the winter World Cup, the English boss has still taken charge of 22 matches.
Potter’s record of nine wins in 22 games as Chelsea manager does highlight things have been far from straightforward on the pitch. Meanwhile, off the pitch there’s been huge recruitment and financial spending to improve the squad.
There was a definite identity to how Brighton and Swansea City were set up under Potter, but the English coach is still trying to find the right formula in west London.

Potter definitely deserves some slack due to the unprecedented injury count and the squad overhaul, which has made it impossible for him to build some consistency in his starting XI.
However, it does feel like his side should be delivering more.
Hopefully, Chelsea will be able to kick on new as new faces settle and key individuals such as Reece James return to fitness.
It does feel like a large chunk of the fanbase are willing to be patient for now with Potter, who’s definitely received a massive backing from the ownership. At some stage soon results need to improve, though.
