Mason Mount has told the Premier League’s YouTube channel that he made sure he spoke to Declan Rice after scoring for Chelsea against West Ham last season.
The pair are known to be good friends, with the hopes in the last couple of years being that the Blue can convince his mate to make his next move be one to Stamford Bridge.
Fast forward to now though, there is a good chance that neither will be Chelsea players when next season gets going.

Rice is strongly linked with a move to Arsenal, who are currently poised to win their first Premier League title in nearly two decades.
Mount meanwhile has fallen out of favour with some sections of the fanbase after what has been a poor season for him based on his high standards.
He is reportedly of interest to Liverpool notably, who are likely to look to completely redevelop their midfield next season.
Mount goaded Rice
When things were going better last season, Mount scored a stunner on the volley against West Ham to at the time give the Blues the lead.
He has now claimed that he didn’t hesitate to let his good friend know just how good a goal it was when preparing for kick-off.

He said: “Yeah, he wasn’t happy. I was in his ear as well on the way back, I was like ‘Do you like that one, yeah?’
Despite the sensational finish, Thomas Tuchel’s side were defeated 3-2 in the Premier League game last season.
There fixture against West Ham this season did bring a bit more joy. A last minute Kai Havertz goal was enough to complete a remarkable turnaround at Stamford Bridge in the early weeks of this season.
