Mason Mount said he felt sorry for Christian Pulisic, who had to miss out on Saturday’s Burnley clash following a hamstring injury during the warm-up.
The 22-year-old initially made the starting line-up on Saturday, but had to be replaced by Timo Werner just minutes before the kick-off due to an injury.
Having to play in a wider position on the left, the Germany international did fairly well and bagged his second Premier League goal of the season.
The 3-0 win at Turf Moor was a complete performance from the Blues as they kept their fourth consecutive clean-sheet in all competitions; a massive improvement at the back given their defensive record last year.
Mount, who put in a brilliant display from his favourite No.8 position, said Chelsea dedicated the win to Pulisic.

Speaking in his post-match interview, Mount said (via the Metro): “I felt sorry for Christian, he felt his [hamstring] in the warm up so hopefully he is back soon.
“He is an unbelievable player. We dedicated the win to him today.
“Timo [Werner] came in and was brilliant as were all the players after a tough week.
“It was a tough week this week, three away games.
“A lot of travelling and flights, so we didn’t have a lot of time to recover for games but today I thought we were brilliant.
“Winning the game, winning the fight, matching them up and then we knew what we could do on the ball.”

In his post-match press conference, Frank Lampard said Pulisic felt a “small sensation” in his hamstring but they will have to wait for further examination before declaring any potential return date.
“He couldn’t play after feeling that in the warm-up so we’ll have to scan it,” the manager added (via Chelsea’s official website).
“He’s got fit and played three games so obviously he’s frustrated.”
