Mason Mount’s father Tony said Frank Lampard and his assistant Jody Morris are very demanding figures as he praised the former’s man-management.
It might be surprising for some, particularly considering how calm Lampard and Morris are on the touchline and during interviews.
Unlike former Blues boss Antonio Conte, for example, who would express his displeasure when his players made a mistake and makes Lampard look like a Dalai Lama in comparison.
However, Mount’s father Tony said Lampard sets a high bar for his players despite his calmness.
“Frank is very hard on him [Mount], he drives him, he’s very demanding and he always wants more,” Tony told Fulham Broadway’s Finest podcast.
“Jody is the same — and has been with Mason since he was a youth player and been a big influence.
“Jody is all about winning, he’s competitive.”
Asked who is the tougher one between Lampard and Morris, Tony said: “Jody [laugh].
“Don’t get me wrong, Frank’s man-management is excellent.
“He knows when to put his arm around, he knows when to raise his voice, when to pat [a player] on the back, says the right thing at the right time.
“Jody will give a smile, he’s always a man of banter, but he’s very demanding, and Jody is a winner and that has definitely rubbed off on Mason.”
