Mason Mount has sent Chelsea teammate Kai Havertz a supportive message for his newly-established charitable foundation.

The 23-year-old announced the launch of the Kai Havertz Stiftung, his new non-profit organisation, on Wednesday.

The charity was initially inspired by animal welfare before Havertz decided to expand it to youth development and elderly care.

“A real project of my heart is finally getting off the ground,” the Germany international wrote on Instagram.

“K H S, the Kai Havertz Foundation. @kaihavertz.foundation

“The mission: to help. The goal: progress. For people and animals.

“We’re live now, so check us out! Because we have a lot planned!”

On the foundation’s official website, Havertz mentioned how the 2021 flood disaster in his home region in Germany and the surrounding areas made him realise that he needed to do more for society.

Mount clearly impressed by his fellow Blue.

In response to the post, Mount wrote in an Instagram story: “Love it bro!”

The England international himself is quite active, having been a Patron for Together for Short Lives, which helps children and families with life-threatening or life-limiting conditions, since January 2021.
