Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino says his players are delighted with the arrivals of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia.
Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia both joined the Blues last week in a development that seems to have brought a lot of positivity to Cobham.
“I could feel the excitement in the players that are here when Caicedo and Lavia decided to come here,” Pochettino told Chelsea’s official website.
“It was a big boost to the players knowing they are at a club where this was possible. They wanted to join us, and that is so exciting. You can feel the atmosphere, the energy in the training ground. We are so happy about that.”

The arrivals of Caicedo and Lavia were a much-needed boost for Chelsea, who lost Mason Mount, N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek earlier in the transfer window.
Chelsea players are right to be excited about Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia
Caicedo and Lavia are two young midfielders with so much talent and potential. It is why the Blues were willing to spend so much to bring them in.
The former cost the club £115m after joining from Brighton & Hove Albion, while they paid Southampton an initial £53m for the latter.
If you are a Chelsea defender, Caicedo’s arrival is really good news. Defensively, he was superb last season and the team’s backline will now be hoping that that transfers over to Stamford Bridge.

In the 2022/23 Premier League campaign, the Ecuadorian made 100 tackles, the second most in the division (FBref).
When you consider that, with Caicedo in the side, Chelsea should become a much more solid outfit.
Last term, going forward was probably their biggest problem. In total, they scored just 38 goals in the top flight. That obviously needs to improve if Pochettino’s men are going to qualify for the Champions League. But making their midfield and defence better, which should happen following Caicedo’s arrival, will also go a long way.
