Chelsea sit fourth in the Premier League table after a decent start to life under Enzo Maresca, where several players are enjoying their football.

There’s a number of individual in the Chelsea squad that are impressing this season.

So far, Blues head coach Maresca has stuck with a pretty familiar core of players. It’s actually something that Mauricio Pochettino struggled with during his time in the manager’s dugout last year.

Interestingly, Paul Scholes admitted he got it wrong when he doubted Maresca’s appointment in pre-season.

Micah Richards says Moises Caicedo has found his confidence at Chelsea

Micah Richards has been waxing lyrical about Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo after his most recent performance.

The 22-year-old midfielder produced a dominant display and scored an equalising goal in the weekend’s 1-1 draw away to Manchester United in the Premier League.

Richards said on The Rest Is Football: “I thought Caicedo was outstanding today. I thought he ran the midfield… He really has [come good]. I think he’s found his confidence. [It’s] the Caicedo we saw at Brighton.”

Jody Morris has called Caicedo Chelsea’s most consistent performer this season, which is a reflection on how well he’s done in the Blues midfield. He’s started all 10 league games this campaign, recapturing the kind of form that made the club splash £115m to sign him from Brighton in the summer of 2023.

Moises Caicedo has the trust of Enzo Maresca

Caicedo is playing some of his best football in Chelsea colours this season, something that Maresca does deserve some credit for.

The Italian head coach has put his faith in a few key individuals, including the all-action midfielder. It’s been great for supporters to see a consistent core of players together every week.

During Chelsea’s 10 league matches this term, Caicedo is one of only five stars to start all of them.

Levi Colwill hailed Chelsea teammate Caicedo as “amazing” after the Man United draw, where he scored a stunning volley to rescue a point. On top of the wonder goal, Caicedo covered every blade of grass at Old Trafford with such aggression and dynamism.
