Micah Richards has noticed that two Chelsea stars are combining superbly well together so far this season.
It’s been a positive opening quarter to the campaign from Chelsea, with things beginning to click into gear on the pitch.
The Blues are up to fifth in the Premier League table after Sunday’s 2-1 home win over Newcastle United. Next, they play Newcastle again in midweek during a Carabao Cup Round of 16 tie at St James’ Park.
Enzo Maresca, the Chelsea manager, should be satisfied that his influence on taking shape on the pitch. Incidentally, Football.London explained why Maresca was animated on the touchline during the Newcastle victory.

Micah Richards spots Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson partnership
Micah Richards has highlighted that Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson are linking up really effectively.
“The chemistry he (Palmer) has with Jackson is absolutely brilliant. Not necessarily in terms of the passing, but it’s the movement… The relationship they have between them is excellent,” Richards told Match of the Day 2.
We agree that the Chelsea pair very much seem to be on the same wavelength. Palmer is causing havoc to opposition as a No 10 that is so intelligent getting in-between the lines, while Jackson’s the centre-forward with a brilliant all-round game.
Chelsea possess huge attacking firepower
Chelsea have so many effective goalscorers in their squad right now, including the talented attackers Palmer and Jackson.
So far, the Blues duo have directly combined with each other for four league goals this season.
- Palmer goal, Jackson assist vs Wolverhampton Wanderers
- Jackson goal, Palmer assist vs Crystal Palace
- Palmer goal, Jackson assist vs West Ham
- Palmer goal, Jackson assist vs Brighton
If opposition teams focus too much on the in-form pair, it leaves space for the likes of Pedro Neto and Noni Madueke to benefit.
We’ll add that one of the reasons Palmer and Jackson may be in such a purple patch right now is because they know they can’t let their standards slip with teammates Joao Felix and Christopher Nkunku waiting in the wings as their understudies.
