Pundit Micah Richards has now had his say on who he thinks has more talent out of Chelsea’s Cole Palmer and Manchester City’s Phil Foden.

He told ‘The Rest is Football’ just how impressed he has been so far by what the former has been doing since he left for Stamford Bridge.

Opportunities did not look set to be on the cards for Palmer at the Etihad, and he left on deadline day to pursue first team chances.

He has quickly proven that he was definitely ready for that, being arguably Chelsea’s best player so far this season.

It is difficult to imagine him doing this for City, given the fact that they have so many talented players in his role.

Richards has now had his say on the battle of Palmer with one of them, leaning towards Foden still in terms of ability.

Richards on Palmer vs Foden

He said: “Do you remember when we did a game last season and he came on and we were saying what’s he like, what sort of player is he? Is he a number 10?

“He came through the academy and I’m not surprised what he’s doing. I think his talent, I wouldn’t say as much as Foden I wouldn’t say his ability could take him as far as Foden.

“But he’s very skilful, just the way he glides with the ball, he just has a different sort of mentality. When you go to a club and have been at Man City all your life, and he’s taking penalties off Raheem Sterling.

“You’re scoring penalties in the last minute against your old club, it takes great courage and I think he has the full package.”

The duo faced off against each other in the last Premier League game before the international break, where it’s fair to say Palmer outperformed his former teammate at Stamford Bridge.
