Micah Richards was full of praise for Chelsea’s Kai Havertz after his Champions League performance on Wednesday night.
The 21-year-old attacker helped the Blues reach the Champions League final after being Real Madrid 3-1 on aggregate over two legs.
Havertz, who started for Thomas Tuchel’s side in midweek, was one of several individuals performing at an elite level.
The left-footed forward looked a threat with his movement, creativity and skill around the box, but his overall appetite and energy during the match stood out most.
It’s been a challenging first season at Stamford Bridge during his debut year in English football, but he’s really starting to flex his muscles now.
He’s now up eight goals and six assists across all competitions this season.
Pundit Richards picked out the dribbling side of his game as something that really impressed him against Madrid.
“[N’golo] Kante was exceptional, but Havertz, the way he runs into the space, the way he goes past people like they’re not even there, the way he links up play as well,” Richards said on Champions League on CBS Sports.

Havertz has gone a turn of pace that perhaps catches defenders out at times, and he’s got such close control with the ball at his feet that he can so often drive away from them.
He tormented Madrid’s defence in the Champions League semi final second leg.
The German attacker is someone that is getting better with every game, proving why the club’s fanbase was so excited when he joined last summer.
