Micah Richards has stated that Chelsea man Hakim Ziyech is one of the best dribblers currently playing in the Premier League.

Sky pundit Richards gave the 28-year-old a special mention on Sunday when discussing the strength in depth within the Chelsea squad.

“Ziyech is one of the best dribblers in the league,” he said on Sky Sports’ Main Event channel (6:45pm, 19 September).

Ziyech, 28, was part of the Chelsea match day group that comprehensively beat Tottenham 3-0 this weekend in the Premier League.

However, the left-footed attacker didn’t actually get on the pitch.

The Morocco international was included on a very talented substiutes bench and remained there for the 90 minutes. Instead, Blues manager Thomas Tuchel turned to Timo Werner as an attacking substitute during the second half of the Spurs victory.

Can Hakim Ziyech break into best Chelsea XI?

First of all, Ziyech is an unbelievably talented player that has the potential to break into the favoured Blues line-up. He can be a creative genius on his day that gives Chelsea something different with his vision, flair and technique.

But, it feels like supporters are still holding on hoping to see the best from him.

He’s yet to rediscover the form that made him a superstar with ex-club Ajax, albeit there are glimpses with some things he does on the ball.

A shoulder problem in the recent pre-season disrupted his start to the campaign, but he now needs to start delivering consistently whenever he gets onto the pitch.

He missed out in today’s game, but an opportunity is surely just around the corner. Tuchel has the option to rotate freely without really changing the quality of the team he puts out.
