Chelsea have shocked the footballing world by agreeing a deal to sign Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, which will interest Middlesbrough fans.

The Blues have completely hijacked Arsenal’s summer plans by agreeing a staggering £117 million deal with Aston Villa for Morgan Rogers.

Xabi Alonso played a massive role in making this happen, personally driving the transfer to secure a marquee signing for his new system.

And Rogers is set to sign a six-year contract at Stamford Bridge, which crucially reunites him with Cole Palmer. The two share an incredibly close relationship dating back to their days coming through the Manchester City academy together. Having that pre-existing chemistry on the pitch has Chelsea fans absolutely buzzing about what this attack will look like next season.

Middlesbrough set to receive over £20 million from Morgan Rogers deal

BBC reporter Nizaar Kinsella has given an update on the situation involving the sell-on fee for Morgan Rogers after his move from Middlesbrough to Aston Villa.

He states that Middlesbrough believe they take a British record sell-on fee from the deal.

It will be in excess £20m as they have 20 percent of the profit from the 2024 sale to Aston Villa.

What this does mean is that Elliot Anderson, who signed for Manchester City for £116 million, is no longer the most expensive British player ever.
