Moises Caicedo has named the Chelsea teammate he loves playing alongside right now.

There’s a number of players in the Chelsea squad impressing this season, including Moises Caicedo.

Caicedo is one of several ever-presents in the Blues XI in the Premier League, starting every top-flight match so far this campaign. The aggressive defensive midfielder is proving to be a key figure in Enzo Maresca’s side.

Caicedo matched an N’Golo Kante record in Sunday’s win over Newcastle United, becoming the first Chelsea player since 2018 to make seven interceptions in a single league match.

Moises Caicedo hails Cole Palmer

Caicedo has just delivered a glowing verdict on Chelsea teammate Cole Palmer. In particular, he admitted that he loves playing behind the attacking midfielder.

“Cole is so important for us. He’s a great player, we know that, everybody knows that. We are happy to have him here and it’s nice to be playing next to him,” Caicedo said via Chelsea’s official website.

Caicedo and Palmer, both aged 22, are probably Chelsea’s two best performers this season. You could argue they’re right up there as the best in the division, too.

Cole Palmer leads Premier League statistic

If people were concerned that Palmer would struggle to replicate last year’s stunning debut season in Chelsea colours, he’s quickly addressed that emphatically with a blistering start.

So far, the Englishman has seven goals and five assists in the opening nine gameweeks of the Premier League.

Here is a look at the players with the most goals and assists combined in the league this season:

PlayerGoals + Assists
Cole Palmer12
Mohamed Salah11
Erling Haaland11
Bukayo Saka10
Nicolas Jackson9
Bryan Mbeumo8
Chris Wood7
Danny Welbeck7
Ollie Watkins7
Luis Diaz7

Palmer is doing what all the great modern players do: produce high attacking output. However, the left-footed genius is much more than just numbers because he passes the eye test with flying colours for the things he does on a football pitch with the ball at his feet.
