Of all the players to have improved in the time Enzo Maresca has been in charge of Chelsea, there is perhaps no better example than Moises Caicedo.
The Ecuador international has been a near ever-present in the Premier League starting XI this season, with him arguably being the Blues’ best player this season.
This has of course led to interest in his services, although there is no chance Chelsea sell Caicedo amid Saudi Arabian interest at the end of the season.
The midfielder’s teammates have been full of praise for him during big performances throughout the campaign. Levi Colwill was wowed by Caicedo during the recent win against Tottenham.

Alexis Mac Allister gives verdict on Moises Caicedo vs Declan Rice
A popular comparison made across the Premier League this season has been between Caicedo and Declan Rice, who was also a former Chelsea transfer target.
Both moved to their current clubs for similar huge transfer fees, and are amongst the best in world football in their respective positions.

Liverpool midfielder Alexis Mac Allister was asked to rank the two against each other, and the World Cup winner named his former Brighton teammate as the better player of the two.
He said: “Really good players. I’ve shared a dressing room with Moi, fantastic player. Really good physically. When he was at Brighton I was really surprised that he went on loan, because when I was watching him in training I felt he was ready to play. I always thought he was going to be amazing.

“The main thing I am going to say is physically it is the hardest part against these players I will put Caicedo first, he’s very complete. On and off the ball, he’s really, really good.”
Caicedo’s stats vs Declan Rice 24/25
While Rice’s set pieces will always see his assist numbers clearly excel Caicedo’s, phyiscal stats tend to lend themselves to the South American.
| Caicedo vs Rice Premier League 24/25 | Moises Caicedo | Declan Rice |
| Duels won | 200 | 105 |
| Tackles | 61 | 22 |
| Recoveries | 192 | 139 |
| Assists | 2 | 7 |
| Pass accuracy | 90.4% | 90% |
| Successful dribbles | 20 | 11 |
Caicedo is going to be one of the first names on the teamsheets as Chelsea look to keep up their Champions League hopes by hosting Everton at Stamford Bridge.
A win will see the Blues return to the top five places, and put the pressure on the chasing pack who play after them during the upcoming gameweek.
