Gabby Agbonlahor has described Chelsea’s signing of Moises Caicedo as “money well spent”.
Chelsea confirmed earlier this week that Moises Caicedo has joined them from Brighton, signing for a British-record fee of £115million (Sky Sports).
The 21-year-old star turned himself into one of the Premier League’s top midfielders during two years at Brighton, which is why the Blues have gone all out to bring him to Stamford Bridge.
There’s generally been a lot of criticism in the media regarding the club’s wild transfer activity, but there’s been a positive spin on the biggest deal of the summer window.

TalkSPORT pundit Agbonlahor has named Caicedo as one of the best Premier League signings of the window so far.
He notes that the Ecuador international is an extremely versatile player that is going to be worth every penny for Chelsea.
When discussing Caicedo on talkSPORT, Agbonlahor said: “I’ve seen enough of him now to know he’s a top, top player.
“Reece James struggles with a lot of injuries, so there’s cover at right-back. He played for Brighton against Arsenal [at right-back] and was outstanding. Nobody could get any change out of him.
“He’s the sort of player who can play anywhere and he would be outstanding. He could play centre-half and be good.
“He is strong, aggressive, good on the ball, got an eye for goal when he gets forward enough. I really feel he’s the one that is going to be money well spent.”

There’s big expectation on the shoulders of Caicedo. We’re pretty confident he can live with that in a Chelsea shirt, though.
The energetic midfielder has the kind of stamina that makes people liken him to N’Golo Kante, which is some huge praise in itself. In addition, the former Brighton star is tactically astute and super aggressive.
It may take Pochettino some time to work out his preferred system with his personnel, but we expect to see Caicedo dominating all over the park with his work off the ball when everything is in full flow.
