England booked their place in the final of Euro 2024 in dramatic fashion last night, and have a Chelsea man to thank for the impact he had.
Cole Palmer came off the bench to make part of the difference again for his country, finding the assist for Ollie Watkins in the final minute of normal time.
Setting the goal up saw him move ahead of the likes Jude Bellingham and Phil Foden in this tournament, and only strengthen his argument that he should be playing a more prominent role.

During his time as part of the England camp, there seems to have emerged somewhat of a bromance with one of his international teammates.
Palmer and Kobbie Mainoo have developed a close relationship with each other, with the latter becoming a starter for his country in recent games.
Palmer praises Kobbie Mainoo
The Chelsea man was quick to praise him for a strong showing, commenting on his Instagram post: “My boy one more!”

National media were extremely complimentary of the Manchester United star last night, describing him as very ‘composed’.
However, there were also positives regarding Palmer and the impact he managed to have for his nation in such a limited amount of minutes.
It does feel as if it has reached too late a point in the tournament for manager Gareth Southgate to make any changes to the starting lineup that will majorly impact things, which could be bad news for the 22-year-old.
One person who will no doubt be keeping a close eye on what he is up to is new manager at Chelsea Enzo Maresca.
It is still believed that Palmer is going to be arguably the most important figure in the new manager’s system, whether he ends up featuring in the middle or on the right of attack for the opening game against Manchester City.
