One Chelsea player has now been tipped to leave the club when this season comes to an end.

Twitter user ‘TheSecretScout’ has claimed that he has heard defender Thiago Silva is going to leave the club when this campaign ends in May.

Silva has proven to be an essential player this season for manager Mauricio Pochettino, featuring in near enough every game he has been available for.

This was no different earlier this week when it came to the EFL Cup semi-final second leg against Middlesbrough at Stamford Bridge.

Tasked with overturning a 1-0 deficit from the first leg, the Brazilian’s experience in big games was key as the Blues turned on the style in front of their home fans.

The boss will surely not have been expecting to start the veteran centre-back as much as he has had to during this campaign so far.

With him turning 39 earlier this season, many will have been expecting him to take on more of a off the pitch leadership role seen in the past with John Terry.

Right now, Silva’s contract is currently set to expire at the end of this season, with there being no talk up to now that they will be looking to offer him a new deal.

Now, TheSecretScout have claimed that he will actually be on his way out of West London at the end of the season as things stand.

He simply said: “My understanding is that he will be leaving.”

There should perhaps be an appetite to keep Silva at the club if he is happy to take on a role with less minutes on the card.

This is because he can play a key role in the development of the young defenders who are already at the club, including Levi Colwill and Wesley Fofana.
