Ian Wright suggests that Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante needs replacing looking ahead to the summer transfer window.
Kante, who cost the Blues £30million, remains one of the most high-profile players at Stamford Bridge.
The French midfielder has just concluded an up and down 2021/22 season, with a series of small injuries disrupting his momentum at times.
He’s still shown flashes of brilliance during 42 appearances across all competitions this term, but there perhaps wasn’t the same kind of consistency or elite standard that Blues supporters have become so used to seeing from him.

N’Golo Kante needs replacing
Pundit Wright, who was discussing what Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea need to do looking ahead to the summer, has mentioned finding a Kante replacement.
“Kante is starting to get a little bit of injuries so they’re going to need to replace him,” Wright said.
With Kante’s deal at the Bridge still running until 2023, everyone should expect him to be an important part of the team next season.
However, finding an eventual Kante heir, which is going to be an unbelievably difficult task, should be in the club’s thoughts.
The 31-year-old recently explained he’s not too concerned about his contract situation as it enters its final year, so it’ll be intriguing to see what the future holds for him.

Midfield shape
The way Tuchel designs his Chelsea midfield going into next season is very interesting.
England international Conor Gallagher is back at the club after a hugely successful loan with Crystal Palace, so can Tuchel fit the box-to-box midfielder into his XI?
If Gallagher and Kante start in the same team, you won’t find an opponent that cover as much ground.
Experienced Blues duo Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic will be expecting to play most game, though.
