Baba Rahman admitted in an interview with #3Sports he did not mourn his underwhelming move to Chelsea.

Rahman arrived at Stamford Bridge from Augsburg in 2015 for an eye-catching £23m (Goal).

Chelsea’s transfer spending has come leaps and bounds since then, but at the time, that price for a largely unknown talent was surprising.

In hindsight, the club may have overpaid for the output the defender would eventually give them.

Which is through no fault of his own. Rahman only made a smattering of appearances during his debut season, with Jose Mourinho mainly using him as a makeshift understudy.

Things began to seriously spiral downwards after Antonio Conte was appointed the subsequent term.

The left-back was loaned out to Schalke following Conte’s assignment and would not return to Chelsea afterward.

His last game for the Blues was on the final day of the Premier League in 2016; since then, he’s featured for Schalke, Reims, Mallorca, and PAOK.

However, despite all his misgivings, Rahman insisted he did not regret signing for the South West London side.

“No, never. I don’t think I would want to say I ever regretted it going to Chelsea,” he said.

“One, because not every player gets the chance to play for one of the best reams in the world.

“It’s one thing I could say to my kids, I once played for a top club in the world.”

Rahman played his football with PAOK in the previous campaign, helping himself to a Greek Cup winners medal.

There is an opportunity for the Ghanaian to return to Chelsea for pre-season, yet the odds of that are extremely slim.
