Chelsea fans got a first glimpse of Nicolas Jackson earlier this week when he made his debut during pre-season.

Most of this summer’s transfer window so far at Stamford Bridge has been focused on the mass exodus of players, but the Blues have managed to sneak in some quality additions under the radar.

Signed for £32million from Villarreal (Daily Mail), Nicolas Jackson has joined Chelsea to bolster the attacking options.

The 22-year-old is a genuine out-and-out striker with lots of pace and strength, so could he finally end the centre-forward curse at the club?

His first outing during the early hours of Thursday morning was a really positive first-half display against Wrexham. He provided a great assist and showed some great movement during the 5-0 victory.

Hopefully, Mauricio Pochettino gives the young centre-forward a lot more game time during the remainder of the pre-season tour in the United States.

Jackson has posted a brilliant three-word message on his social media after his debut Chelsea performance.

“Just the beginning,” he wrote on Instagram.

Chelsea’s new frontman certainly sounds like a positive character with a lot of confidence, so we’re excited to see much more of him on the pitch.

His aim should be forcing his way into the starting line-up for next month’s opening Premier League fixture against Liverpool.

Jackson is still relatively unproven and inexperienced at the highest level, but he’s earned a high-profile transfer to Chelsea after a fabulous ending to the previous season.

The Senegal international finished the last campaign with nine goals in eight La Liga matches for Spanish club Villarreal.

Hopefully, he’s now massively improving as a forward and ready to take the Premier League by storm.
