A handful of Chelsea supporters on social media did not want to let Jadon Sancho forget his Stamford Bridge allegiances.

It was announced yesterday that Manchester United had agreed a deal to sign the Borussia Dortmund talent, to finally end one of the longest transfer sagas in recent history.

Whilst Red Devil followers were sent into hysterics, Blues fans had something to put by them first.

In an interview with talkSPORT last month, Sancho admitted he supported Chelsea growing up and that Frank Lampard was his idol.

This did not escape the Chelsea contingent ahead of the England international’s move to Manchester.

Here’s how they reacted on Twitter:

Of course, players childhood loyalty’s do not always dictate which club they will play for in future.

But it is an easy way for football devotees to wind each other up.

Unfortunately, it feels like United are getting the last laugh after they eventually secured their prime target.

Something Chelsea are still searching to achieve, as their pursuit of Erling Haaland continues to frustrate.

Many connected to the Blues felt signing Haaland had become impossible after Sancho’s departure from Dortmund.

They saw no reason for the German side to relinquish both of their prized possessions in one window.
