ESPN pundit Shaka Hislop said there were only three Chelsea players who did “OK” in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Wolves in Frank Lampard’s first game in charge as a caretaker manager.
It was a disappointing start to Lampard‘s interim spell at Chelsea, who remain 11th in the Premier League table following the defeat.
The manager might have the upcoming trip to Real Madrid in mind when making team decisions, but Chelsea arguably should have enough quality to beat Wolevs, who had not won in their last three matches prior to this game.
Hislop expressed his concerns over the number of underperforming players in this Chelsea side.

“I thought Chelsea’s best players were [Wesley] Fofana and [Kalidou] Koulibaly, and I’ll put [Enzo] Fernandez in there [too],” the former West Ham goalkeeper told ESPN FC.
“They were OK.
“But we’re talking about Chelsea and three players being OK and nobody else making that great.”
Hislop also highlighted how Diego Costa, who gave Chelsea defenders some “physical battles” despite not scoring.
“So at least there’s some value there for him being on the park,” he explained.
“Which you can’t say about Kai Havertz and so many of Chelsea attackers.”
The Blues registered 13 shots in the game, but only one of them was on target.
Chelsea have now played more Premier League games (30) than they have goals (29) this season, which shows how alarming their goalscoring problems are despite the attacking talents at their disposal.
