Chelsea winger Noni Madueke has been speaking about one of his teammates and how much of a problem he is for other sides.

Chelsea have a squad of really talented players, which includes Noni Madueke himself.

When it comes to taking on defenders one-v-one, the 22-year-old is probably one of the best wingers in the Premier League.

In his first season at Chelsea, Madueke completed 2.8 dribbles per game in the English top flight, the most in the Blues’ squad, according to WhoScored.

The England U21 international, though, has been quick to highlight the talent of another player at Stamford Bridge.

Noni Madueke backs teammate to shine next season

Cole Palmer is Chelsea’s star player right now after a campaign where he managed to come up with an incredible 40 goal contributions for his team.

However, the player who Madueke is really excited about is Carney Chukwuemeka, whom he has described as a “problem”.

Speaking to Chelsea’s official website about the midfielder, Madueke said: “Carney is the player I spend most time with, easily. I knew him through the England set-up. We are just very similar, we get on really well. We like the same things and have the same type of personality, so it just clicks.

“When he’s fully fit, he’s a problem for teams. So I can’t wait until next season for him to be fit from the start of the season and just show everyone what he can do.”

Carney Chukwuemeka can be Enzo Maresca’s secret weapon

A lot is going to be expected of Palmer next season after his impressive 2023/24 campaign.

There will also be pressure on the likes of Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku to score goals. The latter really has a point to prove after missing most of last season because of injury.

There will probably not be too many eyes on Chukwuemeka, then, but he really is capable of coming into Enzo Maresca‘s side and giving people a bit of a shock.

The 20-year-old has a lot of quality and showed it under Mauricio Pochettino when he was fit. You only have to look at the really good goal he scored against West Ham United at the beginning of the previous campaign to know that.

If Chukwuemeka can remain fit next term, he could end up being a very useful player for Maresca.
