Chelsea boss Graham Potter has delivered another injury update on Edouard Mendy that suggests he’s going to miss both games against Manchester City in the next few days.
Mendy, 30, has been absent from both of Chelsea’s fixtures since they returned to action after the World Cup break.
The £22million Blues goalkeeper has been spotted on the training pitches during the last week, but it sounds like his return to the pitch is still a little way off.
Chelsea are currently preparing to host Manchester City tomorrow night in the Premier League. The two English giants meet again this Sunday at the Etihad Stadium in the FA Cup third round, too.

Edouard Mendy injury update
Potter confirmed during Wednesday’s press conference that Mendy is “not fully fit” at this moment in time.
He hints the 30-year-old keeper could be back in a week’s time, which suggests the Manchester City league and cup games come too soon.
“He’s been training a little bit more than he was. He’s not fully fit at the moment but hopefully the next week or so he will make progress,” Potter said, as quoted by Football London.

It feels like Kepa Arrizabalaga has cemented himself as Chelsea’s number one goalkeeper right now, so whether Mendy would even be used in league games is a mystery.
However, if fit, surely the Senegal international would have played in this weekend’s FA Cup match.
Potter is being fairly vague and unclear regarding Mendy’s exact return, so supporters will just have to wait and see when his comeback to the squad actually is.
As for Kepa, his focus will be on trying to be at his best against a quality opposition in Man City. In particular, the Blues defence will have to improve drastically to deal with goal machine Erling Haaland.
