Chelsea supporters were saddened to see that Kai Havertz was seemingly not involved again during yesterday’s training session.
Many of the squad were captured together playing at Cobham in what looked like a game of handball, alongside their regular drills and gaining instructions from Thomas Tuchel.
Havertz was the most noticeable absentee and Chelsea fans quickly expressed their disappointment at his disappearance.
Whilst the latter did return to the bench for last Sunday’s win against Sheffield United, Havertz was again nowhere to be seen.
That has largely been the story of his season. Havertz’s £71m (BBC Sport) price tag placed a burden on his young shoulders the second he stepped foot into England.
His Chelsea career so far has been extremely disheartening. Contracting Covid-19 was the tip of the iceberg for a player who hasn’t started in the Premier League since mid-December.
The upcoming fixture FA Cup fixture away to Barnsley would’ve offered a fantastic opportunity for the 21-year-old to get some well needed minutes under his belt.
As it stands, he doesn’t appear to be in contention for the Blues.

This really has turned into something of a Roman tragedy. Havertz has quickly plummeted from his once on high platform and is struggling to clamber back up.
I truly hope for his sake he can turn it around, but perhaps this campaign is now a write-off.
