Chelsea winger Omari Hutchinson has been speaking about his successful loan spell at Ipswich Town.

Omari Hutchinson joined Ipswich Town for the 2023/24 season and helped Kieran McKenna’s side to win promotion to the Premier League.

He was easily one of their best players this term, winning the club’s Young Player of the Year award.

It comes after Hutchinson’s 10 goals and five assists in 44 Championship appearances for the Tractor Boys.

What Chelsea did during Omari Hutchinson’s loan spell at Ipswich

While there is talk of Hutchinson leaving Chelsea this summer, the club did seem really interested in his development while he was at Portman Road.

The 20-year-old has shared how Chelsea would constantly call to check up on him and send videos to help him improve.

Speaking to the club’s official website about his loan, Hutchinson said: “I had Andy Myers looking after me before he went to Millwall. He was a great guy who would always call me here and then and check up on me to see what I could improve on or where I was doing well.

“Then Carlo Cudicini took over and did the same thing, and he’s another great guy. He would send me clips about where I could improve on and he would tell me just to keep going.”

Chelsea set to benefit from Omari Hutchinson’s Ipswich loan

Whatever happens with Hutchinson, senior figures at the club are likely to be happy.

If he stays or goes out on loan, Chelsea retain a player with a lot of potential. If they sell him, then they could make quite a bit of profit on someone who was signed for nothing.

According to football.london, Ipswich want to bring Hutchinson back to the club and are prepared to pay £20m for his signature.

It only makes sense for them to try and sign the former Arsenal youngster after his loan spell.

And with Chelsea potentially needing to sell players because of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability rules, they may have a good chance of landing him this summer.
