There are so many superb Brazilian stars that have played for Chelsea over the years, including the likes of Oscar, Thiago Silva and Ramires. Hopefully, Estevao Willian is about to follow in their footsteps at Stamford Bridge.
After watching his development at Palmeiras, Chelsea fans now get to see Estevao Willian, 18, perform on a weekly basis for them.
The Brazil international has all the ingredients to be something quite special, so all eyes are locked on him to see how he performs for the Blues. So far this season, he’s not looked out of place in Enzo Maresca’s side.
Estevao, who’s been hailed as “magic” by Benoit Badiashile, has proven he can light up any football match with his technical quality and imagination on the ball. The left-footer provides a direct threat from the right wing, but he can also operate more centrally as a number 10.

Oscar insists talented Estevao Willian needs time at Chelsea
Oscar, who played for Chelsea between 2012 and 2017, has delivered his verdict on fellow Brazilian attacker Estevao.
Even though he’s hugely impressed by the 18-year-old’s ability and potential, he’s warned that it may take time to get up to full speed as he adapts to European football.
When discussing Blues youngster Estevao, Oscar said on The Obi One Podcast: “He’s good. He has the dribbling. He likes to score goals. He has a lot of talent. Need to give him time and give him time to adapt in Europe. It’s not easy to arrive there. I think he goes to one of the best teams in Europe, so let’s see what happens in these next two or three years.”
It is important to remember that Estevao is still only18 and new to European football, so everyone doesn’t apply too much pressure on him too soon.
Reece James has been spotted helping Estevao during games with words of advice. Despite the fact it’s a young squad at Chelsea, there are still a few senior figures that should be a major help, both on and off the pitch.

How Estevao Willian has started at Chelsea
Chelsea supporters want to see Maresca fully unleash Estevao, but it is quite obvious that he’s being cautious with the South American rising star.
The teenager is still waiting to complete his first 90 minutes of the campaign.
| Competition | Appearances | Minutes played | Goals | Assists |
| Premier League | 5 | 250 | 1 | 0 |
| Champions League | 2 | 45 | 0 | 0 |
| Carabao Cup | 1 | 31 | 0 | 0 |
On Saturday, Estevao deserves to be in Chelsea’s starting line-up for the huge Premier League fixture at home to Liverpool. With Cole Palmer sidelined through injury, the Brazilian has the flair and ability to inject something extra in the final third.
We’ve seen enough in the youngster already to feel confident he’s got a massive future ahead of him.
