Antonio Rudiger will hold talks over a new Chelsea contract at the end of this season, but only if the same is done with Thomas Tuchel.
According to Sky Sports journalist Kaveh Solhekol, Rudiger is set to discuss extending his deal beyond its 2022 expiry date.
However, the £29 million defender’s (BBC Sport) stance may depend on whether his manager is also offered a fresh agreement.

“Our information is he (Rudiger) will hold talks at the end of this season about extending that contract,” said Solhekol.
“His future at the club could depend on what happens with Thomas Tuchel. Tuchel’s contract runs out at the end of next season.
“I think if Thomas Tuchel gets an extended contract as Chelsea manager, then the feeling is Antonio Rudiger will stay at Chelsea and sign a new extended contract as well.”
Tuchel penned an 18 month stay at Stamford Bridge when he arrived in January.
Based on Chelsea’s current predicament, it would seem prosperous not to secure him for the long term.
Same can be said for Rudiger, who’s form since the German coach arrived has been exemplary.

But the shelf life of any Blues managers is not long. Just ask Frank Lampard, the man who Tuchel replaced after just a season and a half in charge.
Winning both the Champions League and FA Cup would surely give him more time to tinker at Stamford Bridge.
Yet, this incredible double trophy swoop did not save Roberto Di Matteo from the sack.

The Italian claimed European and domestic cup double in 2012 after taking over mid-term, like Tuchel, but was then sacked after only eight months.
Chelsea look a different proposition than they did nine years ago. Unfortunately, football is a cruel business and can turn on its head in an instant.
For now, the signs are promising and will be even more positive if they can tie down Tuchel, Rudiger, and several other key components.
