Pat Nevin thinks Kalidou Koulibaly was fantastic in Chelsea’s win against Borussia Dortmund earlier this week.
The Blues beat Dortmund 2-0 on Tuesday night to secure qualification for the Champions League quarter-finals, which keeps their season very much alive.
It’s been really disappointing for Graham Potter’s side in domestic competitions this campaign, including the Premier League, but they’re once again proving their European pedigree on the Champions League stage.

Nevin claims Koulibaly was “dominant” for Chelsea on the memorable European night against Dortmund.
In fact, he reckons it was the £33million centre-back’s best performance for the club so far.
“That is my favourite game he’s played for Chelsea so far. I know he’s scored goals for us before, but he was dominant today,” Nevin said, as quoted by the club’s official YouTube channel.
“Without Thiago Silva, we needed people to step up; he stepped up. He was right in the centre of that defence. He won everything.”
Incidentally, Jason Cundy has agreed that Koulibaly looked at his very best levels this week.

Chelsea’s injury list currently includes 38-year-old Thiago Silva, who’s such an integral part of the Chelsea defence.
However, the Blues have looked very solid in the past two games since switching to a back three.
Koulibaly, who has slotted into the XI as the middle centre-back, looks very comfortable in that role.
He’s certainly not lived up to the hype since joining in the summer from Napoli, but he’s regaining form now after a brief spell out of the starting line-up.
His return to form is very timely given the Thiago Silva blow.
