Paul Merson has predicted Chelsea to drop more points tonight in the Premier League during their short trip across London to face rivals Fulham.

The Blues are back in league action on Thursday evening at Craven Cottage.

Graham Potter’s side, who sit 10th in the league table, are in desperate need of three points. It’s quite alarming they have just one victory in their previous eight top-flight games.

In contrast, Fulham are currently on a three-game winning streak in the league, which has seen them climb up to seventh.

Chelsea vs Fulham prediction

Merson has highlighted the fact Chelsea boss Potter is under real pressure going into tonight’s west London derby.

He’s tipping a 1-1 draw between the two teams later on:

“This is the first time in several years that Chelsea will be going into this game and it’s touch and go. I like Graham Potter but I think he’ll need to win this game. If you’re going to lose to your little neighbours down the road, it’ll be a massive shock,” Merson told Sportskeeda.

“Fulham have been outstanding this season and have played really well in the Premier League. Chelsea are still struggling along, and I think they’ll play out a draw in this game.

“Prediction: Fulham 1-1 Chelsea.”

Chelsea should take confidence from the fact they’ve won their last seven consecutive matches against tonight’s opponents. In fact, their only defeat against them this century came back in 2006.

The main concern is that the two teams are in completely different form and moods.
