Mykhailo Mudryk’s closest people believe that he’s a ‘sleeping superstar’ in the Chelsea squad.

That is according to a report from TEAMtalk.

They claim that people close to Mykhailo Mudryk, 22, are convinced it’s only a matter of time before the player explodes into life.

It is understood that there’s a belief the Ukraine international is a hidden gem in the group at Stamford Bridge.

In addition, the report explains that Chelsea still have big faith that the £89million (BBC) signing can come good for them.

Mudryk’s struggles so far in Chelsea colours is well covered, with the left-winger unable to put together any kind of form or consistency.

However, there’s been signs this season since the change of manager that things are starting to happen.

The rapid attacker released pressure off himself by scoring his first Chelsea goal earlier this month against Fulham. Blues head coach Mauricio Pochettino is starting him more regularly in matches, too.

Journalist Ben Jacobs reported via GiveMeSport earlier this month that Mudryk has been seriously impressing his Chelsea teammates with his performances in training at Cobham.

He’s got the ability to breeze past opponents like they’re not there with his pace and skill. Can he find his shooting boots and improve his decision making, though?

The 22-year-old should definitely look at the current state of the Blues XI and think he’s got the potential to become a regular starter.

With Christopher Nkunku still sidelined through injury, the rest of Chelsea’s attackers needs to capitalise.
