PL agents believe ‘fantastic’ Chelsea signing was actually one of the worst deals of the summer

Reports have claimed that Premier League agents have voted Moises Caicedo to Chelsea as the second worst deal of the summer transfer window.

According to The Athletic, only Kai Havertz joining Arsenal was seen as a worse move than the most expensive transfer in Premier League history.

Chelsea spent the majority of their entire summer focusing on competing the addition of Caicedo from Brighton.

As they pushed and pushed to get the deal done for cheaper, they ended up paying more than they did to sign Enzo Fernandez back in January.

Agents believe Caicedo one of the worst deals

The duo are expected by the club though to form a partnership that will last years in the middle of the park at Stamford Bridge.

Caicedo has been described as ‘fantastic’ during his brief spell in the Premier League, and the agents who remained unnamed made sure to point out that they didn’t think the addition was poor due to the player.

They went on to claim that the risk of joining Chelsea at this stage of their project makes it a risk for any player to make the move to Stamford Bridge at this stage.

The Ecuador international was the highlight addition to what was another busy summer, which also saw the likes of Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nkunku join the club.

This has been countered by a very good window for the Blues in terms of selling. Those same agents have claimed that the sales of Havertz and Kalidou Koulibaly rank as some of the best sales made by clubs during the window.
