Gabby Agbonlahor has urged Frank Lampard to use Joao Felix in the number 10 position after Chelsea’s defeat against Arsenal.
Chelsea’s losing streak stretched to six games last night by suffering a 3-1 away defeat at Arsenal, who cruised towards three points to climb back to the top of the Premier League table.
The Blues supporters inside the Emirates Stadium got to enjoy a rare goal, with Noni Madueke netting a consolation in the second-half. Lampard’s side were ripped through by Arsenal and 3-0 down at half-time, though.

Unfortunately, Chelsea’s three-man midfield of Enzo Fernandez, Mateo Kovacic and N’Golo Kante couldn’t get near Arsenal.
TalkSPORT pundit Agbonlahor has since claimed that the Blues need to sacrifice a central midfielder and bring Joao Felix into the XI.
“I’m looking at Chelsea’s formation… Kante, Kovacic, and Fernandez are experienced players, but did you need all three of them in there?” Agbonlahor told talkSPORT.
“You’ve got three midfielders in there and you’ve got Felix [on the bench]. Play Felix as a number 10. Put Kante next to Enzo Fernandez.”

Felix was an unused substitute for Chelsea against Arsenal and he’s lost his starting position in recent games.
Lampard explained in an interview this week that Felix doesn’t even know his best position.
Therefore, it’s no real shock the caretaker manager isn’t quite set on the versatile midfield.
His end product hasn’t been anywhere near good enough in Chelsea colours since he joined on loan from Atletico Madrid back in January, but he often looks the bright spark in a really dull forward line wherever he’s used.
We definitely think he deserves a run out in the upcoming fixtures against Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest, which present a chance to try end the team’s woeful run of results.
Opposition defenders still don’t enjoy the kind of intelligent positions Felix takes up on the pitch. He just needs to try fit the pieces of the jigsaw together to get the best out of himself.
