Back in July, Chelsea sold Christian Pulisic to AC Milan as Todd Boehly oversaw a major clear out at Stamford Bridge.

The American moved to the San Siro in a deal worth £18.8m after struggling at Stamford Bridge.

Just two games into his AC Milan career, Christian Pulisic is already showing signs of a resurgence…

What’s the story?

Well, the United States international was largely underwhelming at Chelsea following his £58m move from Borussia Dortmund in January 2019.

Pulisic scored just 26 goals in 145 appearances for the Blues.

In just two games for AC Milan – however – the man nicknamed Captain America has been back to his brilliant best.

Pulisic scored just 21 minutes into his debut for the Italian giants when he opened the scoring against Bologna on Monday 21st August, and he was on the scoresheet again on Saturday night.

The 24-year-old once again opened the scoring as AC Milan recorded a 4-1 win over Torino, firing Stefano Pioli’s side to the top of Serie A.

It may still be early days, but Pulisic is clearly taking to life at AC Milan like a duck to water.

Chelsea will benefit if Pulisic thrives at AC Milan

While some may regret selling Pulisic if he goes on to become a superstar at AC Milan, there would still be a benefit in that for Chelsea.

According to The Athletic, Chelsea have negotiated a “meaningful” sell-on clause in the deal, so if AC Milan were to cash in on the American for a large fee, the Blues would be entitled to a good chunk of it.

It must also be noted that Pulisic will most likely be starring for the USMNT at the World Cup in the United States in 2026.

If the Hershey-born forward does well at that tournament, his value could well skyrocket, leading to Chelsea receiving more from this meaningful sell-on clause.
