Even though Chelsea recorded a vital win over Tottenham on Thursday night, there are some potential injury concerns about one key player.

The Blues just picked up a much-needed three points in the Premier League by winning 1-0 at home to Spurs.

It’s absolutely vital that Enzo Maresca’s side secure Champions League qualification this season, but they’re involved in a competitive battle.

A number of individuals caught the eye in Chelsea’s player ratings against Spurs, responding well to the defeat against Arsenal before the international break.

Can they now follow that up when they travel to Brentford on Sunday for their next league match?

Moises Caicedo can be seen limping after Chelsea beat Tottenham

In a video released by Chelsea on X, the Blues players are captured celebrating the win over Spurs as they walk down the tunnel after the full-time whistle.

However, it’s noticeable in the clip that Moises Caicedo is moving uncomfortably and limping away.

Chelsea midfielder Caicedo, 23, did receive treatment on the pitch from the medical staff after going down injured inside the opening five minutes of the Spurs fixture. It was a concern as he appeared to be holding his hamstring.

Despite looking uncomfortable for some brief moments after, Caicedo played on and completed the entire 90 minutes. The defensive midfielder was outstanding in the centre of the park, too.

Blues defender Levi Colwill raved about Caicedo straight after his teammate’s contribution against Spurs.

The attention now turns towards whether there’s any lasting damage for the midfielder, though.

It’ll be a disaster if Moises Caicedo misses games for Chelsea

Chelsea supporters should keep everything crossed that Caicedo has come through unscathed from the Spurs showdown and his limp was nothing more than a battle scar he can shake off.

If Caicedo misses any set of games, it would be a gigantic blow to the team.

The Ecuador international is the only player in the Blues squad to play in every league game so far this season, providing huge consistency and quality in the midfield engine room.

The fact that Chelsea midfielder Romeo Lavia has another injury means losing Caicedo for any length of time would be even more catastrophic.

Chelsea’s season could suddenly become a lot harder if they lose one of their key players. Not only are they fighting for every point in the league, but they are into the quarter-finals of the Conference League.
