Frank Lampard will likely have Thiago Silva and Mateo Kovacic back for the Sevilla game but some players might need deserved rest after a busy international break.
Sevilla are tough opponents and fielding your strongest eleven from the available players should be an obvious option.
However, Lampard will also have to put the weekend’s Premier League clash against Manchester United into consideration.
Timo Werner and Kai Havertz are in a good run for both Germany and Chelsea but four games in 10 days could be too much even for them if Lampard planned to start the pair in the next two equally important games.

Silva and Kovacic’s returns would allow Lampard to rest both Andreas Christensen and Jorginho, respectively.
While Hakim Ziyech could start ahead of Mason Mount who has featured in eight games already this season for both Chelsea and England.
Ethan Ampadu, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley’s loan exits (and Billy Gilmour’s injury) have severely limited Lampard’s midfield options, though.
Havertz and Mount are only two obvious options for the No.10 role for Lampard’s new 4-2-3-1 system since Ziyech and Christian Pulisic prefer to play in wider areas.

To get around this, Lampard could opt for a back-three system as it doesn’t need a No.10.
Having five centre-backs at his disposal, the 3-4-3 formation would be a sensible option for the Chelsea manager.
How Chelsea could line up in a 3-4-3:
Caballero/Kepa
Tomori/Rudiger – Silva – Zouma
James – Kante. – Kovacic – Chilwell
Ziyech – Abraham/Giroud – Pulisic
