Chelsea’s most recent Premier League result has left them in an uphill battle to qualify for the Champions League for next season.
The Blues dropped out of the top five in the table following a 2-2 draw with Ipswich Town, where only a second half fightback saved them from an embarrassing defeat.

Enzo Maresca’s frustration was aimed in a number of directions following the point gained at Stamford Bridge. The boss was unhappy with Enzo Fernandez and Robert Sanchez’s part in Ipswich’s goals.
Maresca also risked his relationship with Chelsea fans by calling out the atmosphere created inside the stadium as a reason for their poor result. While he may have had a point on this past, it is hard to have no frustration while losing at home to a side set for Premier League relegation.
The Blues will now look ahead to a short trip down the road to take on Fulham at Craven Cottage, a side whose own European ambitions were handed a blow by Kepa Arrizabalaga and his Bournemouth outfit.

Anthony Taylor appointed referee for Chelsea’s clash with Fulham
A win is imperative to keep their fading hopes at appearing amongst Europe’s elite alive, although there will be frustration from certain sections of Chelsea before a ball is even kicked.
The Premier League has announced that Anthony Taylor will be the referee for the West London derby, with Andy Madley in charge of VAR.
Taylor has been in charge of three Chelsea games this season in the Premier League, most recently the 4-3 win against Tottenham back in December.
Blues fans have been left frustrated by a plethora of decisions and moments involving this particular referee in the past, and have not been scared to share their feelings on him.

Notable controversial Chelsea moments involving Anthony Taylor
Thiago Silva shared his dismay at Taylor being named the referee ahead of Chelsea’s season opener at Stamford Bridge.
He was also in charge for the Blues’ win over Bournemouth earlier this season, where Christopher Nkunku’s first Premier League goal of the season was overshadowed.
Taylor handed out a record amount of bookings across both sides, with 14 players being handed a yellow card as well as a number of coaches.
The Blues are desperate for all three points on Sunday, and will be hoping there is not a refereeing drama which overshadows what could be a huge victory for their season.
