‘Probably be buzzing’: Agbonlahor thinks club will actually be happy if Chelsea go and buy ‘amazing’ player off them

Gabby Agbonlahor thinks Barcelona would be really happy if Chelsea buy Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang off them this summer.

Aubameyang, 33, is a centre-forward that’s been strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge recently.

In fact, it’s been reported that Chelsea are now in a position where they’re prepared to make an offer to sign the Barcelona attacker.

He only exited the Premier League back in February this year to join Barca, but he was a goal machine during four years in Arsenal colours.

Barcelona happy if Chelsea buy Aubameyang

TalkSPORT pundit Agbonlahor suggests that Chelsea’s interest in the Barcelona striker is a deal that could make sense for all parties involved.

He reckons that the Spanish giants may even be “buzzing” if the deal can be sorted.

“I think Aubameyang makes sense… Thomas Tuchel needs a striker. He knows him well from Dortmund. It just makes sense. Barcelona will probably be buzzing to get him off the wage bill,” Agbonlahor said.

The Mirror reported earlier this month that Barcelona could be open to Aubameyang’s sale due to the fact that they need to balance the books to help their financial problems, so perhaps Agbonlahor is along the right lines here.

Another ST test

Eventually, Chelsea will bring in a traditional striker that can successfully fill the role supporters are desperate to see. Will that man be Aubameyang, though?

Described by Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka as “amazing” in the past, there’s no doubting the talent from his impressive CV. The fact he’s been a massive success when coached by Thomas Tuchel at Borussia Dortmund is a big tick by his name, too.

However, there’s got to be question marks about the way he left Arsenal and the challenge of still scoring regularly at the Premier League level.
