The situation between Chelsea and Josh Acheampong seems to be reaching boiling point, with the player’s family now getting involved in the situation.
Despite showing immense promise, Acheampong has found regular opportunities hard to come by under multiple different managers.
Things looked set to change upon the arrival of the new boss though. Xabi Alonso had stopped Acheampong leaving due to how promising a player he thought he was.

Josh Acheampong’s dad is furious at Chelsea
Despite this admiration, the youngster’s ongoing links to Crystal Palace have opened up the opportunity for the Blues to part ways with him as they push for Adam Wharton and Maxence Lacroix.
Simon Phillips has revealed that Acheampong’s father has been left ‘really angry’ at the Blues being unable to deliver on assurances the player has asked for.

He said on the SPTC Podcast: “He’s a player that they want and I know Chelsea have said, you know, he’s one of the indispensables. I don’t believe he is. I think Chelsea might consider throwing him in there, especially because we know Josh has been unhappy with his game time.
“Josh has gone to Chelsea and told them this. He’s asked for assurances. I’ve heard that his dad has been really angry and getting involved in it as well.”
Acheampong started 13 games in all competitions for Chelsea last season, and would be advised to show a bit of patience before throwing his toys out of the pram at Stamford Bridge.

Acheampong needs to show patience
Despite showing immense promise, Acheampong will be aware that Chelsea have put themselves in a difficult position when it comes to defenders.
The likes of Trevoh Chalobah, Benoit Badiashile, Wesley Fofana and Tosin Adarabioyo are all being paid big money at the club, with them being open to offers for all this summer.
Acheampong should trust that there is a place for him under Alonso, especially given the fact he looks likely to utilise a back three formation in West London.
The youngster can play at both full-back and centre-back, which gives him an advantage over multiple other options at the Spaniard’s disposal.
