Chelsea academy star Jude Soonsup-Bell has signed his first professional contract with the club after having been training with the first-team.

Soonsup-Bell, who just turned 17 on Sunday, is certainly one of the brightest talents in the Chelsea academy.

He has scored 16 goals already from just 12 appearances in all competitions, including the four goals he scored in an FA Youth Cup game against Barnsley in November.

He also found the net in his debut for the development squad (U23s) in a PL2 game against Manchester United last month.

The England U-16 star has also caught Frank Lampard’s attention and earned an invitation to join the first-team training along with several other academy players.

Speaking in his press conference before Sunday’s clash against Morecambe, Lampard told the reporters (via Hayters TV): “We’ve called up Jude, he’s been scoring goals in the youth team.

“It’s great experience for [the academy players].”

Unfortunately, the young striker did not make the squad.

Although, he will likely make his senior debut very soon if he can keep his goalscoring form for the youth team.

Soonsup-Bell announced his new contract on social media, saying: “Very happy to have signed my first professional contract. Hard work continues.”

Unsurprisingly, a lot of Chelsea fans are excited about the news. Here are some of the reactions from the fans on social media:
